Cecil Soil Conservation District is awarded Conservation Education District of the Year for 2024.

This is the fourth year in a row the District has been awarded.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Cecil Soil Conservation District has been recognized as the Conservation Education District of the Year (2024). This prestigious award celebrates the district’s continued dedication to promoting environmental awareness, sustainable land use, and hands-on conservation education within the community. Through workshops, student programs, and partnerships with local organizations, the district remains committed to inspiring future generations to care for our natural resources and protect the environment for years to come.

LEAD Maryland Program Welcomes Class XIII for 2024/2025.

The District's staff member, MDA Engineering Technician, Jessica Zebley was accepted into the program.

About the LEAD Fellowship Program

The LEAD Program seeks applicants, age 21 or older, with career, service, or interest in: production agriculture, natural resources, the environment and conservation, food (processing, sourcing, distribution, marketing, safety), rural communities and development, business, communications, education, government, science and technology, finance, and much more. Fellowships provide:

Over the course of two years, LEAD program curriculum delivers lessons through a series of 9 multi-day seminars, as well as participation in an international study tour.
